The plant based Emollient Botannica is a light skin serum that can be left on or used as a cleansing oil.

The carefully crafted blend of jojoba, apricot kernel, almond, olive, and coconut oils creates a silky serum that soaks quickly into the skin.

This anhydrous formula has no water, so no preservatives are required.

Why these oils?

Jojoba oil is a stable oil with a long shelf life. In addition to being an emollient, jojoba oil is also hygroscopic which draws moisture to the surface of the skin, smoothing skin texture and plumping fine lines.

Apricot kernel oil is the main ingredient as it has a light, easily absorbed texture and is known for its skin-nourishing properties.  It also contains vitamin E, and other antioxidants, which contribute to its health and skin benefits. It is rich in Oleic and Linoleic acids giving the following benefits

Emollient: moisturizes and nourishes the skin, making it soft and supple.

Almond oil is high in oleic acid, a penetrative oil that forms tiny holes in the skin.  The second most common compound in the oil is linoleic acid, a soothing, anti-inflammatory fatty acid found in some barrier repair moisturizers.

Olive oil penetrates deeper and faster into the skin than most oils as the oleic acid causes tiny holes in the skin barrier.  These holes also allow water to evaporate in a process called transepidermal water loss which is why it is blended with coconut oil.

Coconut oil is high in lauric acid is easily absorbed in the first few layers of the skin hydrating the skin and fighting bacteria and preventing trans-epidermal water loss.

Use as a cleansing oil.

1. Gently massage the oil over your face and neck (do not get oil in your eyes) 
2. Allow the oil to sit for another 15 seconds. 
3. Wet your hands and massage again to emulsify the oil into a milky texture. 
4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water
5. Pat skin dry. 

Patch test before initial use and discontinue use if any redness, itching or swelling occurs.
